GEOHERITAGE
Geopark can be divided into three geology areas:

Alshar (only deposit of Lorandite in Europe) and Kozuf Mountain (Precambrian and Palaeozoic- green or blue colour on the Figure);

MakGeopark part of the Eastern Vardar Ophiolitic Unit (in light orange, or Mesozoic);

Pelagonian massif (Kavadarci municipality and central part of the Geopark, in red colour, which is predominantly Cenozoic).

Many caves, fossils and amazing geomorphology features to explore!!!!

Geot-route#3 is starts from the archeology site Vardarski Rid, passing Negorski baths and going into Precambrian complex of east parts of Kozuf mountain to Smrdliva voda and back to the town.

Map shows al geology periods, geotrails and geosites, present in the MakGeopark from the Precambrian up to the Cenozoic.

Some areas like Alshar or Demir Kapija Gorge are strictly prohibited (only for research) and you need a special permission. Fines apply up to 5,000 EUR.
